About Us

Founded in 1955 and Federated in 1956, Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Garden Club is a member of National Garden Clubs, Inc., Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc., and the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs (FFGC) District XI, serving all of Broward County. Learn more about our Leadership team.

Lauderdale-By-The-Sea (LBTS) Garden Club brings together neighbors who share a passion for gardening, conservation, civic beautification, and community connection. Membership is open to anyone who shares that passion.

We meet at Jarvis Hall on the second Thursday of each month, October through May. Gardeners of all experience levels are welcome from balcony growers and orchid lovers to water gardeners, rose enthusiasts, and Florida native plant advocates.

Visit our Calendar for upcoming meeting dates and membership details, including responsibilities and benefits.

The Club is active throughout the community with projects such as local conservation initiatives including a pilot bioswale, plant sales, and garden tours. We manage the Town’s Micro Bee Apiary, support civic landscaping by planting an annual tree and hosting a Tree City USA reception on National Arbor Day, contribute to Plant-A-Tree, and support local charities through our annual Rummage and Plant Sale.

Welcome to Lauderdale-by-the-Sea Garden Club

This year marks 70 years as a club and as an affiliate of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs. Our founders believed in the power of community and shared learning, and that spirit continues today.

Our theme for the year is Growing Strong for 70 Years! We are excited about expanding membership and offering programming that supports gardening in our tropical climate, conservation, floral design, and community beautification. New this year, we are adding quarterly Saturday events and summer activities to make gardening even more fun and accessible.

Thank you for being part of our community. I’m excited to learn and grow with you this year.

Happy Gardening to All,
Ann Marchetti, President (2025–2026)
